This Man Won $14 Million At A Las Vegas Casino… And Gave It Away To Charity

This guy… this guy right here. He was at the Rampart Casino, which is located on the grounds of the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, this past Sunday and decided to hit the slots to test his luck that day. The Las Vegas local had a friend visiting from out of town and was just showing him around. A proper primer on what Las Vegas is all about does of course include a bit of gambling.

Well, after about five minutes and only $20 spent, the man who has requested to remain anonymous (but did pose for a picture) hit the jackpot like a boss. He won $14.2 million on the Megabucks slot machine he was using, but what he did next is what makes this story so inspiring and uplifting.

After winning millions in Vegas, this hero didn’t think about what he was going to do for himself. He didn’t think about buying a mansion and a few Lamborghinis. No, he immediately thought about the people in his community and how he could improve their lives with his winnings. The most bosslike part is that he doesn’t even want any credit for it. He remains an anonymous hero to most of us not directly affected by his new wealth.

His plans with the over 14 million dollars is to donate a portion of it to charity and give the remaining money to his church. A direct impact on the community he lives in and the people he is surrounded by is what he wants. The church he attends currently operates out of a high school gym. Thanks to our amazing hero, they will now get their own location.

Michael Gaughan, Jr. is the general manager at Rampart Casino. About the jackpot winner, he said, “We pay large jackpots all the time, and just today we are paying $14 million to a lucky local. We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting jackpot. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

Truly unselfish.

About Sascha Brian

Sascha Brian
Known around here as "the German", I am indeed German, but have also spent some time traveling the world. With 10 years of my life spent in the United States, rumor has it that I may even know how to grill a great burger. I don't wear socks with sandals any longer, but I still drink beer and eat sauerkraut like a German. When I'm not writing about motivational and inspirational people on Like A Boss, I can usually be found lifting things up and putting them back down in my garage gym (a.k.a. the dungeon).
